A practical sequence
Plan the decisions before they become delays.
Organize your walkthrough, outstanding items, home documents and service contacts before moving into a completed custom home.
Make the walkthrough a working record
Walk through the home with the agreed plans and relevant selection records available. Discuss questions room by room and identify outstanding items precisely. A photo, room name and short description make an item easier to locate later.
For each remaining action, record the responsible person, next step and agreed follow-up date. Keep proposed actions separate from completed work. Completion, acceptance and payment follow the project agreement.
Ask for a systems orientation
Identify the equipment installed in your home. Ask the responsible provider to explain normal operation, controls and routine care. Keep manufacturer instructions accessible and record where relevant shutoffs and service information are located.
Use qualified providers for work requiring their expertise. Add unanswered questions to the action list with a person responsible for providing the answer.
- Heating, cooling and ventilation controls
- Appliance manuals and model information
- Water and electrical service information
- Care instructions for installed finishes
Assemble a home folder
Collect signed project documents, the applicable written warranty, product information, approved selections, orientation notes and relevant completion records. Ask which final drawings, inspection records or other documents are available for your project.
Save a digital copy in a location you control. Keep private project information separate from material you choose to share publicly. A short index helps you find the right document when a question arises.
Read the coverage documents
Review coverage periods, start dates, maintenance responsibilities and the request procedure in the applicable written terms. Product warranties and builder obligations can address different issues. Keep registration confirmations with the corresponding product documents.
If wording or a missing attachment is unclear, ask for clarification. A service contact page or general planning guide does not establish a new warranty period for your home.
Keep service requests specific
Explain what you noticed, where it is, when it appeared and whether it is changing. Include a photo of the area and a closer view when safe. Give your preferred contact details and any visit-access constraints.
GSP homeowners can contact Vitaliy directly. Our routine service targets are acknowledgment within one business day and a next-step plan within two business days of receiving the request. Repair dates are arranged individually. Keep assessment and appointment information in the same record. For immediate danger, use emergency services or the relevant utility emergency route.
Close the outstanding items deliberately
After an action or service visit, record what was done and whether anything remains. Retain the completion information alongside the original request.
GSP offers check-ins around 30 days and 11 months after handover, with dates arranged individually. A check-in is an opportunity to discuss the home and open items; its timing does not define the warranty coverage period.
